If you’re a new or expectant mom you may be stuck between breastfeeding or bottle feeding. You want to give your little one the best life has to offer from day one. Many formulas claim to be equal in nutrition to breast milk, but that is simply not the case. No man-made formula can substitute nature’s most nutritious food source for your baby.

Breast milk is the most beneficial food for your baby for several reasons. The most obvious reason is that your body produces milk catered to the specific needs of your individual child. Formula is just that, a formula made to encompass the needs of all infants. But not all babies fit the mold of needing what formula provides. Breast milk has necessary nutrients that formula just can’t provide.

Bonding with your baby is key in the first few months of life, and breastfeeding is a key component in securing that bond between mother and child. When you breastfeed your baby your face is all it sees, therefore it will connect your face with comfort and security. Breastfeeding is essential in forming an early bond with your baby.

If you’re not convinced yet, ponder this. Formula can cost up to $25 dollars a week, whereas breastfeeding is absolutely free. In today’s economy many families are strapped for cash, so breastfeeding your new addition is a great way to save money. Just forgoing formula feeding saves the average family $1200 per year. With health and financial incentives, what good reason is there not to breastfeed?
