What does postpartum period mean?
The postnatal or postpartum period – weeks after a baby is born – are critical phase of life in a mother’s and newborn’s life. Postpartum is a period from four weeks to six weeks after the delivery of a baby. There are lots of changes a mother’s body undergoes during this time – physically and emotionally. It takes several weeks for a body to return back to its normal state. The uterus shrinks and returns back to its normal shape.
As a new mother, you also learn to take care of your newborn. You make lots of changes in your habits and routine necessary to welcome the arrival of a new guest in the family. As a parent you will become your baby’s expert – knowing everything in detail. Trust yourself and enjoy the journey!
